Terms of use

These terms apply to the UMD Technical advisory app at www.umdtechnical.com, operated by UMD Ultimation Direct.

Who we are

UMD Ultimation Direct is a UK manufacturer and supplier of automated sliding gates, swing gates, barriers, road blockers, height restrictors, turnstiles and access control equipment. This app is our technical advisory service for engineers and surveyors. Enquiries: Matt Mulholland, Technical Manager — 01636 550300 or tech@ultimationdirect.co.uk.

Accounts

Accounts are provided to customers, engineers and partners we work with. Sign-up requests are reviewed by an administrator before access is granted. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity carried out under your account. Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been misused.

Acceptable use

Use the app only for legitimate technical work. Do not share your login, attempt to access other users' data, upload material you have no right to share, or redistribute documentation outside your organisation.

Nature of the guidance

Answers are generated from our operations manuals, programming guides and product data sheets, and the assistant states when a subject is not covered. Guidance is provided in good faith as an aid to a competent engineer; it does not replace the manufacturer's instructions, applicable standards, or your own site risk assessment. Always confirm safety-critical settings against the equipment documentation before commissioning.

Third-party documentation

We are not affiliated with, and do not represent, the manufacturers whose documentation we reference. Manufacturer names are used only to identify the equipment being discussed.

Availability and changes

We may update, suspend or withdraw the app or any account at any time, and we may revise these terms. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.

Your data

How we handle your account details, questions and uploaded documents is set out in our privacy policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
